I'm sure everyone has seen the news this past week and I'm also sure that you all know by now that Jim is perfectly safe, but I wanted to let everyone know just in case. He is completely fine and didn't even know about the events from last Friday until it was smeared all over the Oregonian, which is a bit frustrating. The 41st brigade encompasses thousands of troops from all over, and the media just unnecessarily freaked out thousands of families.
I wanted you all to know that he is great and that I will do my best in letting you know anything at all, so when you do hear awful stories on the news, know that you don't have to worry.
As hard as it might be for me, I feel like it's my job to keep everyone in the loop and I do have a request for all of you as well. I think it will be easier if I don't get calls when something does happen. I want to be strong and encouraging to everyone, but I don't know that I can do it every time. I love you all, and so does Jim and just know that God will protect him and bring him home safely to us in about 8 months!

The family visits!
Never thought I'd see the day that Jim was blogging
more than I was, so I'd better step it up. This is for you
babe, since you gave me a bad time today for not
putting pictures up.

MORE PICTURES
I don't know who this is, but it gives you an idea of the environment we are in.
Here are a couple of ASVs. I was going to be in one, but I don't fit.
Staging all our trucks before a convoy.
And a bunch of camels. There are a lot of camels. Pretty cool
